How much does it cost?

Each 50 minute session currently costs £50. If you need the sessions to be shorter then we can discuss this
but the cost
will remain the same.

Where do you work?

Online sessions are held via Zoom.
In person sessions are held at The Therapy Centre, 6b Church St, Reading, RG1 2SB.

What types of things can you help with?

Understanding emotions, navigating relationships, self-acceptance, exploring identity, self-worth,
work stress, traumatic events and more.

How many sessions will I have?

We can work together in an open-ended way or set a fixed number of sessions. We can discuss together what works best for you.

Can we have fortnightly sessions or less frequently?

The first 4-6 sessions will be weekly for us to build a strong, therapeutic relationship. Building a strong relationship can take longer for some people and is necessary for therapy to be beneficial. Once the relationship feels solid, we can explore options for less frequent sessions.

What type of therapy/counselling do you offer?

Integrative rooted in person-centred and psychodynamic theories. Integrative means I use different ways of working that will work best for every individual, there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach in how I work. We will walk alongside one another as we explore what is going on for you and how to navigate life's ups and downs.

Can you tell me how to fix my problems?
The purpose of therapy is not to give advice; it is to encourage exploration of self as a way to find your own answers. People usually know what to do about difficulties they are facing on some level, we can dig through all the barriers together but I won't tell you what to do. I strongly believe that you know yourself best and will respect all choices you make.

What can I expect to get from therapy with you?
Therapy is a unique opportunity to be fully listened to and heard. I offer a space free from judgement and expectations where you can be yourself. Everyone has different aims for therapy but generally speaking, there is greater self-acceptance and a deeper understanding of yourself and relationships. If you have a specific goal and are unsure if therapy might help, feel free to ask.

Will you diagnose me?
No, therapy is not about diagnosing anything. If you want to explore thoughts or feelings you have around a previous diagnosis you have been given or self-diagnosis then we can do this.

How do I know if you're the right therapist for me?
Trust your instincts. If something doesn't feel quite right then maybe we're not the best fit. I am always willing to explore doing things differently to better suit you but if it's simply not working, we can explore options to find someone else.

Will you accommodate for different needs?
Absolutely, we can explore together how therapy might best work for you, please ask for what you need. This could be shorter sessions, more questions, a clear structure, moving about during sessions. If you're not sure what might work, we can test things out together. As a therapist, my role is not to change you so you fit into neat boxes, my role is to meet you where you are.
